To be honest, a bookstore was not on my radar for 2024. For years I had dreamed of a shop of my own so when I was approached with the opportunity to speak with the previous owner, I went for it. Each door continued to open and so I faithfully walked through them. So far this journey has taught me I am stronger than I realize and I am truly having so much fun! For the name, in 1988, the first bookstore opened on the square in our quaint downtown. Wanting a fresh name that honored the owners before me, I chose The 1988. It is history and freshness but the same quality books. We have mixed in great gift ideas too! Each day I walk through the door I cannot believe this space is ours. It blesses me and I pray it blesses the community.
